Who We Are
24Hr Yogapalooza was founded by a team of like-minded yogis with a desire to make a difference in our community by supporting CHEO Oncology as they work to care for our kids.
Our Mission
24Hr Yogapalooza was founded in 2018 on the premise that childhood cancer research is critically important and seriously underfunded, resulting in so many children suffering, and in far too many cases, dying.
Our mission is to work together as a community to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research, which is woefully underfunded worldwide. We partner with the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), whose focus is on helping kids live their best life. CHEO is a part of the Children’s Oncology Group, a global connected organization of hospitals dedicated to sharing expertise and research agendas to maximize the benefits for kids with cancer.
Our approach to raising money and awareness is through annual yoga-focused fundraising activities, where almost 100% of the proceeds go directly to CHEO through the efforts of dedicated volunteers. With community and mindfulness at the center of yoga philosophy, 24Hr Yogapalooza is able to leverage the generosity of the diverse and passionate Ottawa yoga community and help fund cancer research and care at CHEO.
24Hr Yogapalooza was founded on un-ceded Algonquin Anishinaabe territory and we honour the people and land of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation
We are committed to making all of our events and activities a safe, welcoming environment, where the diversity of every student, teacher and volunteer is celebrated.
